A few months ago I took my kids to Funtopia in Lehi. We went right after school one day and I purposely scheduled it at a time where it wasn’t full (you have to schedule ahead of time–you can’t just show up–and you can see how many other people have signed up at the time slot you’re looking at). Turns out we ended up having the place all to ourselves.
I’m always looking for active things we can do with the kids. Generally I like to not pay for those active things, but every now and then I’m willing to fork out some cash to do things I think the kids will love and remember. I don’t do crowds or lines well so I try to figure out times to go when it won’t be insane. Right after school on a Monday was just the ticket.
You pay for one hour and the kids can climb whatever they want. Since no one else was there, they got a ton of climbing in and were completely wiped out at the end of the hour. My four year old was able to climb on his own, but it was still fun enough to keep my 12 year old happy. There’s a big slide there but it wasn’t working when we were there so we just did the climbing.
I haven’t been climbing much in my life, but it’s definitely something I’d love to do more of and have my kids do as well. Such a good way to be active and to get strong! I have a kid who thinks he’s going to be an American Ninja Warrior. He’s definitely got to be a good climber.
Anyway, here are some pics from our time at Funtopia starting with the safety debriefing.
